Justin Stephenson, 'J-FUNK': over 10 years of professional music experience, born in Melbourne, Australia. Specialising in funk, soul, jazz & r&b, Justin has spent the majority of his professional music career in Brisbane, before relocating to London, UK in October 2006. Since completing his Bachelor of Music degree in 2001 (majoring in Jazz Vocal), Justin has ventured to Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne, performing with the likes of  soul/funk singer/bassist Doug Williams, master Melbourne jazz pianist Bob Sedergreen, as well as Bob's son, Stephen, also a jazz pianist. Justin has an endless number of vocal & musical influences, including the many talented musicians he has been closely associated with over the years. These influences shine through in his brilliant vocal and band arrangements.
In 2007, J-FUNK competed in the London final of 'Live & Unsigned' (formerly South Coast Idol), a competition with over 10,000 entrants.
J-FUNK has also independently released his debut album, 'Breakthru'.
Justin is not 'just a singer', he is a creator, composer, arranger, a musician: a vessel for creating soulful & tasteful music.

Alyson Joyce

Where do i begin.. i grew up listening to bob dylan, neil young, the beatles, simon and garfunkel... but i love all types of music.. Now-a-days it's mainly soul, old and new.. i love maxwell, erykah badu, jill scott, sade, vivan green..i dig singers that have no inhabitions and JUST SING. I'm also into alicia keys, india arie, Amel larrieux. I'm a sucker for anything that makes you feel good...i have a favourite chord progression (all you have to do is listen to my music!) I appreciate and respect musicians and the way they express themselves through song.. i think it's important to "understand" different types of music, whether you like it or not, be it rock, metal, classical, hip-hop, whatever... I've recently been introduced to the world of fusion which is pretty mind blowing. Melody is important to me. I like to write my melody around the song instead of a song around a melody. I'm just getting into jazz love ella, sarah, billie, nina...all the greats.. i'm learning to scat!!! Life influences me greatly... life and love... i love being in love, i don't like being hurt but it makes for great songwriting!!
